Hi From Nevada
I just became a new owner of a 2002 Ranger XLT. I say new owner because my company just gave it to me. I've been driving it since new on a 5 state sales route all of this time. It had 86 miles on it when I got it. I just turned 325K, almost all highway miles. I have to say that overall it's been darn good horse. It's not a typical company junker either, I've taken real good care of it but it does have a few age spots underneath here and there. Been running synthetic oil since day one and shows no sign of fluctuation on the gauge. On my last tune up I had a compression test done and all was good there. But sometimes it's a little hard to start. Nothings ever been done to injectors except running the occasional liquid cleaner through the tank. I've been thinking of buying a new injector set. Wires have been changed too. Any other ideas?
Thanks
Thanks

It's the 4.0L V/6. My fuel pump went out at 180K. I don't know if this is true or not but at the time I was told by the dealer to try and gas up when I reach the 1/3rd point. The fuel keeps the pump cool and running it down low tends to make it run too warm.
Can't remember how many tires and brake jobs I've done. On the last brake job, as they were bleeding the brakes they blew out the master cylinder. Which was probably about to go anyway. Recently, I had the front drive shaft rebuilt. When it was going out it sounded like I was dragging a chain underneath.
I see where others here have problems with the check door light staying on. Ditto's here too but I haven't done any of the fixes. Next on list when I get home. The starting problem is more persistent but sometimes it fires right up like it used to and sometimes it takes 2 or 3 clicks of the key to fire.
