Hi there!

Hi, I'm Jay and I'm from Aruba. I own a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 that I bought a longtime ago. I was the 2nd owner of this truck but most of the time it was parked and barely driven by me. This year I decided to make it a project car so I can learn more about this truck and expand my ideas on it.

Hi AutisticGary32,

I bought this truck back in 2006, but didn't drive it that much. I called it a project car because I want to restore it the best way possible and I haven't been using this truck a lot, to be sincere. It does need a paint job, but that will be the last step that I will do. One thing I cannot find to fix, is the abs sensor plug on the passenger side. The plug that comes with the tire hub, needs to be connected at another cabla. And that cable is somehow broken/vanished

(This was already broken when I bought the ranger). Besides that there are a few more things that need to be repair, but I'm in no hurry to repair everything fast.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

Same Frame+WheelBase+DriveTrain as my 2001 SportTrac.
Good little useful trucks; keep her going as long as you can!
RonD (resident expert in this forum) should be able to help with that ABSSensor problem.

So you bought your 01 ranger when your truck was 5 years old and now you have owned your ranger for about 17 years. How do you want to restore your ranger ? why does your truck need a paint job and what happened to the original paint, Do you want me to help you find another abs sensor plug for on the passenger side. What are the few more things you need to repair i can help you if you would like.

Your Welcome

Indeed I have this ranger for a longtime and barely used it. What I’m trying to find is the abs cable that comes from the passenger wheel hub, needs to be plugged to another cable on the passenger side. Well, this “other cable” is broken and I can’t seem to find it. I did take a look at the drivers side and these 2 cables are ok there connected to each other. Is there a diagram of these abs cables? This way I can find exactly which cable I’m missing.

Update:
I just saw a diagram from a '99 ranger that the abs cable goes all the way to the ABS Module. Can anyone confirm if this is the case for my 2001 ranger 4.0 xlt?
