Howdy Y'all.

My name is Ron and I just thought I would introduce myself for starters.
I just bought a 2004 Ranger and thought it might be a good idea to get to know other Ranger owners.
Thanks,

Ron

Welcome Ron.

The ranger is a tuff truck. Lots can be done to it. Their is a solid engine in it. With care you can get many miles out of it.

For a small truck it offers big things. If you like working on it. Their are plenty of spots in here to get you started. If you are new to engine repair. This place might encourage you to try it out. That happened to me. Never did engine or truck work before. Sure I got rust off the frame and repainted it. Never did more. Now I find myself looking how to do more.

People in here point you in the best direction. They have done lots to their truck.

Hope you find a home here. Also a great reference if that oh no moment happens. I have a 2001 Ranger. First truck. First ford. I am a chevy man. With this site and that truck I love this ford. Look forward to seeing you in here.

Jim

Thank you Jim
I too am a Chevy man, but so far, this little truck is changing my mind for small trucks.

Ron

I traded a Trailblazer for my Ranger. I would do it again in a heart beat. Since I started driving. This is my first vehicle that is not a General Motors. For 160K and being a 2001. It sure does a great job. Enjoy. You have a fine truck. Do post pictures if you can.
We all love pictures.

I'll try to post some photos , but if I have problems with that I might need some help.
This Ranger seems really good for one with 240,000 miles.
The automatic transmission seems to shift a little hard from 1st to 2nd, but I have heard that that's sort of typical.

WOW Ron

That is up there in miles. Never fear they last. Might need a rebuilt transmission or a new one. Or there is someone in here that might get you through a rebuild if you wanted. All up to you there. They might already be a post walking you through a rebuild. I haven't looked. I wouldn't be surprised if it was not in here. Don't worry about pictures then. Can't wait to hear what you do to your Ranger.
