Intro from fayjim2

Hello everyone. My name is Jim Senn along with the wife fay thus fayjim2. Old retired/disability retired army guy. I know nothing just like Schultz about computer or forums in fact I like most things almost deleted this whole messs because of my lack of knowledge. But still we have a 1990 Ford rangwer club cab. 4.0 with a overdrive auto/4wd. I didgt get the owners manual. The front axle looks odd to me dana something. Well I have a major shake in this thing and a electrical problem also. I have jhad it for 3 years now and the shaking is now getting pretty bad I know the front brg jam nuts are looose I tightened best as possible and the tire is worn on that side drivers. I thought it had a brg/hub assy like my trusty s 10 but It has manual self locking FORD hubs. So if you could telll me or advise me I wouild appreciate it. Turned lots of wrenches in my old beatup life. Thank You. Please make it easy on me to find subjescts and responses. fayjim2@wildblue.net

It is really worth the $18 investment to buy the Haynes or Chilton manual for your year Ranger. They are pretty thorough for the mechanical items like your hub issue. Here's a link to get you started on your Dana 35 hubs: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech...lebearing.html <<Click on that.

If you would care to describe the electrical issue, we'll try to help you with that. I have a 90 sitting out back waiting to drop the new engine it it, so I have a handy reference to look at things for you.

Goodmorning Earl. First I want to thank everyone for the welcome. The info to the front end issue was great, I have a difficult time finding info on the computer. My biggest problem is when I find it I don,t no what the heck pdf or files how to. My great Grandaughter but that dobe acrobat on the computer the other day maybe she can help. But on to that electrical issue. I am the second owner of this 90 ranger. The other day I mean 12 months ago I talked to the original owner. He saod the problem plaguged him for a year prior to trade in. I have to unhook the battery cable at the end of the day or it will be down to 9 volts by morning. I have connected a 10 amp ammeter in series with the main cable as a test numerous times and something draws between .5 and 4 amps constantly. When I hook the battery up in the morning even with my poor ears I can hear a click near the fuel pump relay?????. It almost seems like my ignition switch is somehow staying hot after shutdown Oh well think about it Thanks Old Jim
