Good day, my name is Garrett and this is my first time. I came here seeking information about the cruise control failing to disengage by either the steering wheel controls or pressure at the brake pedal. It seems to me to be mechanical as I am able to pull over, shut down the engine, and manually return the throttle linkage to closed position and then no further problems.

 

sounds like something is sticking in the control box in the engine compartment

 

What year is your ranger because they did have to do a modification to mine. I got a recall notice on it but to fix it they ended up just putting a mess of wires under the hood.
