Figured i'd introduce myself - My dad and I have been working on a 1991 Ranger XLT 3.0L V6 - He bought it brand new in 91' when he was in the army up until about 02' or 03' it stopped working or he stopped using it after he got himself a newer truck. Now we started working on it mid 2014 After sitting on the side of our house for 8-10 years I decided to ask if we could work on it. After about 2 months of replacing some old parts and draining the bad gas out of the tank it was working - Not great but running. We stopped working on it for awhile for money reasons but now we're working on it again. It's misfiring
bad while idling and the oil pressure is really high. We're replacing parts one at time but we're thinking the oil pump is bad. I have not seen any threads about how to remove a oil pump from this specific truck although. Hope you guys can help!

 

Welcome to R-F! Be sure to add some pictures of the project. Bet thing for you to do would be get a Chilton or Haynes manual. It'll help a lot with the procedures to replace things.
