Just Purchased 95 Mazda B2300
"One of us! One of us!"
How is it going guys, let me tell you my story! My Chevy Lumina crapped out on me after a few year of faithful service. Needed a quick cheap vehicle to buy fast and didn't have many options. I work at a dealership, and this fella brought in this little Mazda truck to try and sell to my techs. My shop didn't really want it, but knew I was looking so suggested I buy it. They told the fella to start it at $4000 (canadain) and go from there, but the old guy didn't want to charge that much. 5 speed Manuel, 2.3. liter, 186,000 KM, engine and bay looks so clean. I will post some pictures maybe later. The interior is kinda ripped up a little, and there is a few bad rust spots around the back fenders and on the passenger side I think. I hardly care about that, I just wanted something that runs. Did a test drive, it felt good, the fella was asking 2500 (Queen bucks) for it instead of the 4 grand thank god. Talked him down to 1800 (Eh dollars), but when i got the money together to go purchase it, he felt bad about the shotty tires, so he gave it to me for 1600 (Timmy's Cents). I feel like I really really scored big time on this vehicle. I've been wanting a RWD standard car for awhile, but you know what I am more then happy with this truck.
I had no idea what a Ranger was or a Mazda, but my research didn't disappoint me one bit. Only thing that bums me is the lack of seating, I also feel far back from the pedals. Little bit nervous about the RWD in the winter time, but I'm going to invest in some high quality winters, sand bag it... Plan was to use it till I get my career going, and finances in order. Then purchase something brand new, (and stupid). But I will probably keep the truck, keep it up to date and serviced. Get rid of the patina, swap the box, maybe swap the engine if the pipe dream happens.
Inspection is tomorrow, I got high hopes for it! I will keep you guys updated on the status!
My plan is to get ford ranger parts and badging, but keep some Mazda badging. Call it the Rice Ranger, or the power ranger and put a big white power ranger stripe down it.
*Pre post update* Decided I was going to post some pics, and found out the seat does move! Freaking eh! Man not a drop of oil, or brake fluid on that sucker! Maybe I should show you guys the mistake of a 1980 GMC I bought, buddy told me its suspension was "all good" and it is all bent and shot. Maybe you guys can tell me if I completely lost any chance of making money back on that GMC. Maybe I will save that for some stinky GMC forums or reddit haha!
Erg cant get the pics to upload sad day. cause man I am proud.
