Icon10 Kinda new to the ranger scene... just bought a 96 sclb 5.0 ranger

Hey everyone, i guess it's time i introduce myself.
Name's Andy Williams, i'm coming from Central PA, with no history in ford vehicles, whatsoever other than my dad owning a ranger. So i bought this ranger... it's a 96 Single Cab Long Bed. It's purple and silver.. ( in the process of painting now.. these pics are old, i'll try to get some fresh ones up, if anyones interested? )
Has a 5.0 out of what i'm guessing is an 85 mustang. It's carb'd, has hedmann headers, Stock 2v carb, ( have a 650cfm edelbrock sitting around waiting to go in... just waiting on a nice used edelbrock intake ) Supposedly has a mild cam.... but i'm not sure.

Future plans with the truck are...
-Paint. This is in progress as we speak. I'm painting it black... haven't decided whether to add more color or not.. can't decide if i want a slick, clean truck, or a crazy-stand-out-of-the-crowd kind of truck.... If i go crazy, it'll be a black bottom half, with purple top half, and a silver stripe inbetween colors.
-Suspension.. I can't decide if i want to lift or lower the truck... one has to happen. I hate stock ride height vehicles, it must stand out a little bit against another truck. Lol
If i lower, it'll be static ( for now ) 3/4 or 4/5 drop. If i lift it... it'll probably be a 6 inch lift, with 33-35s until i can afford a long travel kit.. ( pre-runner would be my absolute goal... although i don't live out west, i'd love to be able to go beat the **** out of it in the big fields, and hill climbs/trails around here... )
-Interior. I'm in the process of smoothing the entire interior, and painting it all silver and black, cut down my 60/40 to buckets, and plan to install a explorer center console, overhead console, and eventually some power leather expo seats as well.
-Engine. Blown 347 stroker. Enough said. XD this will be way down the road though... For now, just a mild build on the 302. Keep the headers, add a mild cam, if there isn't one already... upgrade to an edelbrock intake, throw on my edelbrock carb and call it good.

Just need to find a bed, and the painting will begin... then on with the rest of it. Oh, btw this is my senior project to complete high school. Sorry for all the words... here's some pics!

Thanks bud, i love the ranger to death, but it's not as clean of a ranger to start off with as i'd thought at first sight...
every possible mount you could think of needs replaced... body mounts, leaf hangers, exhaust hangers... you name it..
Bed is a complete joke, there's literally like 30% of the crossmembers left...
and don't even get me started on the electrical disaster! Lol
But when it's running.... what a machine!

I think that will be my next project once I get a new vehicle. I really want to do the 4.6 v8. You have any videos of it?

I'm really thinking lifting it will be a little more practical for where i live....
Has a stereo already, good speakers ( kenwood h/u and alpine speaks )
In the process of painting her black,
Looking for tires and rims as we speak... lift coils and coil spacers on the way.... i'm already spending a ton. Lol

And bigandrw, i know man.. i couldn't pass it up! it sat along the road for three months before i stopped.. the guy was asking 1800 bucks... i called him a week later, 1000... said no thanks bud. I need something good on gas.. next week he called me " man, i need some cash, do you still want this ranger!? "
Yeah, i'll take it off your hands... i have 300 bucks coming in the mail today for my paycheck...
" Deal. Come get it " He hauled it home for me, filled the tank up and i started ripping it to pieces the next day.. Lol

Haha, i was lucky on that part of it, i'll admit...
but i've been kicked out of the garage it was getting painted in, for who knows why... and the electrical issues just keep stacking up... I need a hand wiring this motor, if ANYONE knows how to gimme a hand? Lol

RangOH,
I've checked into the painless products before... and that's way out of my budget... plus all of the old plugs from the 2.3 are mia...
I don't need anything fancy to pass inspection with it. Headlights, turn signals, a horn, and a running motor are all i'm concerned about. Lol
