Looking for rub in all the wrong places....

Hey All...

First time posting and a relatively new Ranger owner. Bought an 06 Sport 4x4 in October and am now looking for new rubber. Was thinking of ditching the stock 255/70/16's in favor of a set of 32x11.5x15 BFG AT KO's, or at least a set of 265/75/16's of the same. I have seen a couple of similar rangers around town with the 32's on and it doesn't seem that the trucks were lifted. ( I parked next to one and mine actually sits a little higher if I compare the mirror hight from the ground). My biggest concern isn't ride or MPG's, but simply if they rub. I won't be doing any off roading as I'm just looking for a better looking stance basically. I'm sure that someone else in here has put 32's on a stock Sport 4x4 and can tell me if it rubs?

Please reply to my plee or maybe the very nice moderator in here can point me to the right threads to get my answers..

Cheers all and it's nice to be here..

A.

Welcome to the site!

The tires will fit if you crank your tbars.

Thanks. That was fast!

What if I tried 31x10.5x15 instead? Do you think they'd be ok without cranking my T-bars?

Also, with the bigger tires, other than my speedo being off a bit, should I be concerned about any other effects?

My 96 is stock, I believe, and it rolls on 31's. I don't hear or see any signs of scraping. However, it is the earlier TTB set up, not torsion bar and a-arms.

You can generally fit 32s without having to do a crank. Most just crank them up for the extra assurance. If you are running the stock wheels they usually rub on the sway bar and the inner fender at full lock.

I've gotten my 31's to rub with up front with cranked Tbars. Both sides catch the rear portion of the fender flare/mud flap and try to rip them off. If you do much that flexes the suspension a lot I would think 32s would rub also. Normal off roading they're fine, but lots of suspension travel=rub.
