n00b 2006 XL Ranger
n00b 2006 XL Ranger
Yes! I am new here. My name is Mike, live in Socal. I've been lurking awhile. I bought this 2006 XL Ranger super cab, with a 3.0 and auto from a buddy of mine back in April on a whim. He used it to take his dirt bike to the desert. I sold all my toys and bought this so my wife could quit her job and go to school full time her last year.
Truck runs like a champ. I have put a stereo in it, a catback stainless Magnaflow exhaust, and modded the exhaust. I have done ALL the maintenance to it since I bought it with 94K on it, ALL fluids using synthetic, all filters, resealed the exhaust manifolds, changed plugs/coil/wires. It has no leaks, no odd noises, really solid truck. Only issue that is an annoyance, an intermittent long crank on hot soak, after the truck sits for about 45min-1 hour which happens once every few weeks. Its now its about to crack 100K (I have an issue I signed up on here for, I will start a thread for it). I work on BMW's for a living, and have been for 10 years. This truck and its ruggedness have impressed me, not to mention its sheer simplicity. My only real plans, I would like a little lift, decent tires for dirt/sand, and a traction aid like a Lock right, etc. I had planned on keeping this for a year and selling it when my wife graduates and gets back to work, but its such a great truck, I think it will be around a while. Here is a pic of it, and some other stuff I have owned which is a odd variety.
