My name is Curtis I just bought my ranger 2 years ago I live in San Diego CA.
So now Im havin a fuel problem I linked it to the pump by elimination and i read out the pump and it only reads 1 ohm Im guessin thats the problem it really sucks that the replacment is about 400 dollars. any thoughts or does anyone know if I can just replace the pump instead of the whole unit???

From: Imperial Beach Ca,
Thanx for the welcome ppl..So it turns out it was not the pump..Traced the circuit got to the inertia switch(fuell pump shutoff)to chec for continuity and the harness to the switch was melted ,go figure well it looks like a poor connection to the switch caused high resistance wich means heat.dykes wire nut electric tape problem fixed..I am sure glad I didnt spend the dough on the new pump..basic mechanicskills cometo the rescue again.thanx again for the welcome now I will figure out how navigate this site properly..
