hey guys and gals,
i just bought a 1998 ford ranger xlt /2.5L ... mechanically it seems pretty solid (you never really know) but the body could use some work (mostly front end and rear ... sides aren't too bad lol)!
i'll be doing a lot of poking around and asking questions!
thanks,
warren

Welcome to the forum! The truck looks pretty good, but you said front and rear issues... those don't show in the pic. I do see the front bumper looks misaligned or bent. Might be a great opportunity to do a 5th generation front nose and hood swap. If this is your first experience with a Ranger, you are going to have some fun here. Lots of things you can do to make this beauty "all your own". Enjoy your time here and have fun!
There are 5 generations of the Ford Ranger. I believe it goes like this:
Gen 1: 1983-1988
Gen 2: 1989-1992
Gen 3: 1993-1997
Gen 4: 1998-2000
Gen 5: 2001-2011
Some people consider 2004 to 2011 as Generation 6, because of major wiring and systems changes.
