Hey,

Been doing the Ford/Mazda thing since pretty much 2000.

Well...my newest project is a '00 Mazda B3000 with a toasted engine.

The engine was hydrolocked and "something" bent. Engine is seized. Neither Cranking by the starter or by Hand will get the thing to budge.

Anyways...my search for a new engine has been running into a few snags.

EVERY single yard I talk to says that this engine was a "one year only" engine.
A 2001 will not swap in it's place?!?

What changed on these engines that makes all the wreckers say it's not possible (I call BS...the 3.0l engine has been around forever).

Any help would be great.

Yeah. I talk with Brian all the time. They have a 2001 engine over there in a Mazda B that has been partially stripped.

...But again. it comes down to that point.

What Changed in 2001 from 2000 that is SO different that the engines are said to not be swappable.

 

lol the hell with the 3.0L get a 4.0L since your looking for a motor anyways

Gotta swap the tranny doing that tho...and that just feels like a lot of work right now. haha

 

why would you have to change the tranny? the tranny i have on my 3.0L is the same one that is on my '03 exploder with the 4.0L lol
