New here
Hi everyone, I'm Mark and thought I'd introduce myself. I've got a 2011 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 4x4 that my father left me when he passed away in 2019. Because I'm a self employed contractor, he said I needed a good truck for my work. Well, his intentions were good, but the truck has been anything but. I've had to replace the transmission, which I'm going through again, and many other problems. Now, I'm having an idle problem with a bunch of codes. I've already posted in the Technical and electrical section here all about the issue. To boil it down, I've got a hot wire somewhere grounding out. I really don't know how to find it. I hope someone sees the post and can give me some good advice so I can get back to work. Thank you.
Its not a hot wire grounding out because you didnt mention a blown fuse or a wiring fire. Its not the transmission since you replaced it. Its had to diagnose "{many other problems" and you didnt mention the codes. How are we supposed to help?
Hi Jim, and thank you for the reply. If you'll read my post again, I stated that I have already posted all the codes in the Technical Electrical thread. I didn't feel the need to write out that whole thing again, if I just directed people to where it's posted. You are right, no blown fuses or fires, and it has me puzzled, but I know it's a hot wire grounding, because if you'd read my other post I just posted today, which I directed the reader to, you'd see that I said I did a continuity check between the positive post on the battery, and the engine block. And I got continuity which means there is a hot wire touching ground somewhere. I even did a continuity check on the positive to negative posts. There should be NO continuity, but there is. For the rest of the codes, please go to the section Technical Electrical in this forum.
