New here!

Hey guys.

I'm a 16 year old from Iowa. Recently just sold my Honda Accord (Thank god) and picked up a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 4X4 4.0L. I got it for a great price however it also means i'll have to be fixing it up a bit. Working part time at a hardware store while trying to balance school and sports sure makes it hard to earn enough money to get everything I want for it...but eventually I'll get there!

My camera is currently lost but I'll get pictures up as soon as possible

Thanks!

Haha I've definitely already realized that...Every thread you look at just gives you so many ideas of what you can do to your own Ranger.

My parents are just going to love me blowing all my money on my truck. haha but hey it's my money anyways.

Current plans as of now are...

Torsion bar crank
Pulling out a couple dents. haha
Clear corners
Either a Westin bull bar and lights or a Westin grill guard or something like that
'06 emblems

Hopefully the near future:

New wheels/tires. The owner before me put 31" tires on so they're not too bad, but they still have the standard wheels, etc.

Some kid of black tool box for the bed.

If you guys have any suggestions on any of this, especially suggestions for a tight-budget person, that'd be great!

Haha I'll have them up by tomorrow. Apparentally my dad took my mom's camera without letting her know so I'll have the camera back by tonight.

There are a few cheap or free mods: Blinker mod, headlight mod, Air box mod, throttle body cable mod, Seat mod. The list goes on.

Thanks!

Iowa can be...interesting, sometimes. haha. I'm really struggling to find some decent off-road spots though. I know the main ones from the lists on wikipedia and whatnot but do you know of any other not as well known sites around eastern to mid Iowa?

The snow is about all that is fun in Iowa. It all melted yesterday though. Oh well, going to get it all back on Tuesday.

Yeah, sadly eastern Iowa is about as flat as can be until you get to the northern parts...

Like Jaaia said snow is the only thing that really is fun, we sure do get a lot of it.

Welcome man, great looking truck! I myself got my truck when I was 16 and was playing baseball and basketball, all while working 30hrs a week and going to high school. It's hard, but fun. It'll be worth it in the end.

Here are a few idea's I came up with for your truck...

Black headlight mod
06+ corners (the dark gray ones)
3" BL
33" BFG AT's
Black Steelies
06 tails
Spray paint/Bedliner coat you're grill and fender flares black.

AND TAKE THOSE DANG 4X4 STICKERS OFF THE REAR WINDOW!

lol, hit me up on AIM sometime, sspil365 if you have any questions whatsoever.

Haha thanks man, and yeah those stickers came on the truck when I bought it, I apologize.

I totally understand what you're saying..I'm working 25 hours minimum a week and playing three sports and trying to keep up with school, it's hell. Thanks for the ideas, I really wanted to do that black headlight mod, etc, but I figured it'd look dumb with the gray grille and fender flares and stuff, but good idea painting those black.
