Hey y'all -
Always liked the Ranger - small enough to be parkable, large enough to hold a fridge or a motorcycle. Just recently found a 2004 'base-plus'...Apparently my seller bought it new and was able to special-check-box all the right things; 3.0 L v-6, 5-speed auto, 3.71 positrack 2wd rear end, 4-wheel ABS. Lockable rear cap with ladder rack and tool box. It tracks straight at 80mph with one finger on the wheel, holding 2,300 rpm. Never 'towed', never 'plowed'. This truck is ridiculously understressed. It's got miles, and yes there are wear-items, but he gave me a 3/4" thick stack of every paper receipt back to when it rolled out of the showroom. Zero dents or rust. I added XLT aluminum rims (with big mudders) from a 2012 and I think i'm pretty much done.
I roadrace motorcycles, and when i have the time and space, i build my own engines so hopefully can talk technical subjects, but mostly i'm here to learn Rangers.
