New (to me) Ranger
Hey guys -
I've lurked around in here for a couple of weeks, but haven't gotten around to posting pics of my truck yet, so here goes.
I bought a standard cab, 4X2, 2.3L 2007 Ranger XL off of eBay. A farmer had basically driven it back and forth to town, so outside of a burn in the driver's seat and a few rock chips from gravel, it's in pretty great condition. And it only has 24K miles. I had a brand new one picked out at the local Ford dealer, and just was surfing around to make sure I couldn't find a better deal somewhere else -- and found this for half of what the new one was going for on eBay , and fortunately it was only about 2.5 hours away in SE Iowa.
Since purchasing it, I've had the bed liner-ed by pro-liner (I think they're only in Iowa-- more similar to Line-X than Rhino, but significantly cheaper, and had excellent customer service. I had a hard time getting Line-X or Rhino to call me back), and I put the toolbox in.
I have also since removed the dealer sticker. I hate those, and this one was particularly ugly.
And put on the requisite Cubs logo.
I've always owned either Hondas or Toyotas, and am quickly finding that working on the Ranger is much easier - Ford actually builds these trucks to work on, which is exciting. I plan to upgrade the grille to the XLT chrome version, and upgrade the headlights to silverstar utlras, as the stock headlights are HORRIBLE, and I don't want to go to the work to do the HID adaptation.
Thanks to all for the advice I've already seen perusing other posts, and to the advice I'm sure to get in the future.
James

Thanks Tre - looks like I got it figured out about the time you posted. I had to do a bunch of rigging with the info that Picasa spits out- I think I'm going to look for a better image host.
Roach - Astros fan? I think I'm the one who is sorry... too bad you guys had to deal with indoor baseball for so long. That's just not right.

I don't plan on lowering or lifting at this point, but that is subject to change. Though I would like the better handling and gas mileage that lowering would give - I do at times still need the clearance during winter. We get quite a bit of snow here. That was my biggest problem with my Civic.

Haha... if I lifted it that much, it wouldn't fit in my garage. Tiny 1950's garage FTL.
I have to admit that silver was my third choice in color. I really wanted Vista Blue, Black would have been my second choice. But - my last three vehicles have been black, and I'm already realizing how much easier silver is to keep clean. Now if only my tree would quit dropping crap in my bed, I'd be fine.
