Hi! My name is Randy. I have a 1996 Ranger with 156K miles. It is as reliable as can be!
The heater fan has started making a big racket and I want to try replacing it by myself, but I don't know where to start!

HELP!

first off welcome to the site randy, and as for the heater fan, check the fan for debris, it could of came in contact with a twig or something, i've heard of some strange stuff ending up in there, i don't know how it happens, but it does. but if that doesn't work, try replacing the fan or trimming the blade makin the noise. hope it helps
