Hello fellow Ford Ranger owners. Just joined and so hoping to get more info on Ranger frame problems. I have been a Ford owner most my life of driving. Although i have purchased a 93 Chevy C2500 Diesel and a 94 GMC K1500,both 4x4. I still have the GMC with 235K miles but tranny just recently decided to give up. I have had the GMC since 2004, with no major rust issues on the frame. I might add that I am not very religious to keeping it the cleanest truck around, but I try when I have time. I just purchased a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab 4x4. I got it cheap cuz the frame was cracked. $800. After taking the box off and inspecting it closer it is beyond patching and needs to be replaced. Just the rear 1/2 tho. Which I believe as well as some have indicated here that it should be a Ford recall issue. I have a 71 with the original frame with only surface rust. This 01 is no dought in my mind to be poor quality material! But i'm not gonna wait for Ford to decide what to do cuz I love the truck already enough that I am gonna fix it. But I would be interested in any info where to look for such frame if anyone has out there. The front half looks just fine for the age, but the rear half is scrap. Thanks and hope this group can be of some help to me now and in the future. Thanks in advance!!
