So Ryan suggested I introduce myself. I am an older guy who knows very little about working on my own vehicles. I have a 2001 Ranger: very basic model, which I bought new when the 2002 models hit the lots. Over the next two days I will roll 100,000 miles. It's been a good workhorse but it's showing some age and I can't afford to pay people to do everything it needs. I joined because both my door locks have stopped working; the key goes into the cylinder but won't turn. I assumed the cylinders need replacing but a local body shop suggested it might be something else mechanical inside the door. So I am trolling this site to see if anyone else has had the problem and can offer advice. As other problems come up, I'll be using the site more. Thanks in advance for any help you can give this old truck and it's older owner.
