Hi folks, new member and new owner of a 2004 4x2 Ranger Supercab, 4.0 V6, manual, treated pretty roughly by the previous owner. Never worked on cars before, but it developed the dreaded high idle problem about 2 days after taking it home and the local mechanic wanted $500+ to replace the IAC valve and clean the throttle body, so I decided to learn and do it myself. It has been a bumpy road, and the problem still isn't fixed, but I've learned a lot by reading posts here (especially the many responses by the very diligent and thorough RonD). Looking forward to learning more and getting the truck back to proper working order.
