Greetings,
I purchased a 2001 Ford Ranger extended cab 4X4 in September. I have always wanted a small pickup so when my 2007 Jeep Commander went belly up, I dumped it and grabbed this Ranger! There is no comparison between all wheel drive and 4 wheel drive! My wife had a 4 wheel Jeep so I'm making the comparison based on experience. I'll take 4 wheel drive hands down any day! I've done some minor repairs and changed a bunch of stuff out just to ensure new over older parts, fluids and such things. I could not be happier! I can work fairly well on this girl and I will run her till the wheels fall off! Thrilled with my purchase!! It had only 94,000 on it when I picked it up, new bed frame rails, rebuilt front end. She's not for comfort...she's a truck...and just what I wanted. I know repairs will come along so I jumped in here to tap experience and I will share things I find myself doing in hopes I may help another. The 4 wheel drive was inoperable when I bought it but a simple 20 amp fuses and I'm in business. Thanks for taking me in....
