New Old Ranger owner

Hi, glad to find this forum. I owned a 2000 Mazda B3000 from new until yesterday. Sadly with only 60,000 miles, it succumbed to New England winters, with excessive and unrecoverable chassis rot, although everything above that point was truly immaculate.
I decided to cut my losses and am now the proud owner of a 2006 Ranger XLT with 4x4, a 4.0 engine and extended cab and 48,000 miles on it. So definitely an upgrade on the 2x2 Mazda. The underside of the Ranger is not too bad, but I'll be doing major rust conversion on the chassis and particularly the offside rear leaf spring mount, which is definitely already flaking badly.
So if anyone has any tips on caring for the 'underside components' I'd be glad to be directed to any threads or advice or products that work.
I'm also interested in 2006 Ranger wiring diagrams. I've have to get the Mazda cap (now on the Ranger) hi-brake light working. I've read the posts on this and have an idea, but want to confirm wire colors.

POR-15 will do you a lot of good for protecting the chassis

A 2006 with 48K miles? In my neck of the woods that makes it worth whatever you paid. But then again to hear your other one died with only 60K miles makes me wonder….we don’t have those New England winters in the great Pacific Northwest.
