Misplaced Texan
Hello, I just bought a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab 4WD truck for $1200 and I am sure this site is a treasure trove of useful information and people. I have the 4.0 v6, 5 speed transmission and the truck does have 180k miles on it. I do have a few issues to sort out, starting with removal of the annoying warning chime. I wear my seat belt and the door is not ajar but everytime I drive at night with the lights on it sounds constantly. I have replaced the headlights recently because one of them was burned out thinking that would fix the problem but it didn't. I don't see any other bulbs burned out. Does anyone know where the warning chime is under the dash or how to kill it? I also have a problem with the 4wd drive not engaging, I know its either the selector switch or the ?servo on the transfer case but I have not had time enough when it wasn't freezing to check it out with my voltmeter. Its 22 degrees here in middle Tennessee today so I am playing on the computer and staying warm. If there are any forum mebers on here from the Cookeville area feel free to introduce yourself.

Thanks
I hadn't thought about that. all I know is when you push the button on the dash nothing happens. when It warms up I will look at that also though. I have 6 inches of snow outside and 22 degrees. I couldn't make it up the driveway when I tried to go to the store. (I have a steep driveway).

Smack your T-case with a hammar, it sounds funny, but mine did something similar (went in 4X4 wouldn't get out) and i smacked it and next time i drove it it went out. try pushing the button on the inside door frame when your lights are on? if that shuts it off, tape the sucker closed or something.
