New ranger owner in Cincy

What's up guys. Just picked up my 2nd ranger last night, but this one is somewhat worth mentioning.

It's a 1994 4.0 4x4 with an auto. Has 160k miles and does have a few issues, but the truck is very clean overall.

It has a miss to it and I'm thinking a valve is sticking on the driver side head. It can be tough to start in the morning, but once you get it going, you can't feel the miss anymore. I'm thinking it might just be cheaper to replace the engine at this point though rather than paying someone to pull the head off and have it fixed, where I can replace the engine myself.

I look forward to doing some research on here. Maybe do a small lift and some bigger tires with new wheels. This is going to be my daily driver and I don't plan on doing any offroading with it.

I can't find my old pics I had when I had it out last summer, but I pulled it out of the garage last week to clean it up and snapped a few pics of it with my old 01' Cobra that was just totaled:

Any links to the swap for this? I am WAY more familiar with 5.0's and actually have an extra 306 with some ported gt40p's laying around that I could throw in there. I wonder how hard it would be with the 4wd and finding a trans to match up to the 302 block?

The trans in this truck is shifting pretty hard too, so I was going to replace it anyway.

Top one is just FI, and the Bottom is an exploder 5.0 swap. I'll admit that the 5.0 explorer is alot easier, but it is far from necessary. I think that a T5 bolts right up, or C5/4 will do it.

HOLY **** are you on CincyStreetScene?

It's a small world.

The 5.0 swaps have been done many times on this site and RPS.
