New ranger owner in Dallas
Just bought me 96 xlt ex cab this weekend. Needed a new daily driver vehicle. Just graduated Lincoln Tech and am in search for a job. Got the wife to ok the purchase. It's a 2.5 with a standard tranny. Really nice interior for a 5 yr old truck, but it's 13. Already put over 400 miles on it and still on the first tank. Didn't think at all that it would get that good mileage. It has no mods except the wheels. They are not stock, but the same size as stock, 14s.
Im in the market for a topper for it. I have two dogs and don't trust em to ride in the bed. The truck is blue, so if your in the area and have one or know of someone that has one that would match (blue, black, ect) let me know.
There are some things wrong with it though, the console, like every ranger is broken. I tied a rope around it and have switched the roles between the console and glove box. I also need to drain some oil, the guy had it changed at a goodyear service center and I think they put the amount for a V6 in it. Anyways, it's got more than it needs, not much, but still needs something done. The radio doesn't light up. The display works, but no lights on the buttons. My buddy is gonna give me a Sony IPod radio he has. Finally it pulls to the right pretty good. I think I'm gonna take it up to school and try out the suspension rack they have and get it done there. All in all I think it's ok for a 13 yr old truck with 166k miles.
This is my first legal vehicle, 25 and have never owned a street legal vehicle. Lots of others, and lots of trucks, never a ranger. Excited to get some time behind the wheel.
So I'll quit ramblin on and say thanks for the site and letting me join.

I may be leaving for San Antonio this weekend to work with my uncle doing cement work. With this economy can't find any jobs working with diesel, what I went to school for. Everyone is laying off. If I'm in town, I'll be there and bring some chips and hotdogs, and a 12 pack of drinks. Just pencil me in for now, I'll know for sure closer to the day and be sure to post it.
