New to Rangers, new to ford
Hey guys. As the subject says, I'm new to Rangers and ford in general. A little bit of background- I currently own a 1988 62 series land cruiser and a 1997 80 series land cruiser. The 62 is relatively stock, slow, loves fuel, but fun to drive with a ton of character. The 80 series is heavily modified (won't bore you with this), peppy for its size, very torqey, also loves fuel, makes me like a kid on Christmas morning when I'm behind the wheel. I've had various other vehicles, but for conversation sake, these are the only two that matter.
This brings me current. For the last couple years, I had a 5 minute drive to work, so the cruisers were fine. That changed in April, and I now have a 40 minute commute one way. Needless to say, my wallet needed some relief.
Two weeks ago I pulled the trigger on a 1990 ranger 4 cyl 5 sod 2 wheel dig with 106k on the clock. This little guy is a cream puff. Great shape inside and out. I've started baselining the truck by changing out the fluids, and have ordered a couple ignition parts for good measure. I also buffed the paint to give it its shine back.
Future plans plans include sprucing up the factory steelies and replacing a couple trim pieces to get it back to date night quality ha! Other than that, I'm gonna drive it like paw paw loaned it to me and soak up the beautiful 22mpgs.
I hope to utilize you guys knowledge if needed in the future, and hopefully I will be able to contribute back to the ranger community at some point.
