newb from wisconsin

Hey my name is joey and i just bought a 97 ranger xlt, 140k, 4x4, 5 speed. So far i love the truck and its pretty much mostly stock but i wouild like to lift it a little and put some bigger tires on it so i can use it in the north woods of wisconsin. ive had other projects before from camaro z28s to turbo diesels but this is my first ranger and only my second ford. the only question i would have right now is if i were to do a 3 inch body lift would i need to lengthen the brake lines? and how big of tires would fit under there? i know this info is probably easy to find on here but hey its my intro and just lettting you guys know what the plan is. Thanks a lot in advance
