Newish B4000 owner in Houston, TX :)

Hello everyone! I say I am a newish owner because this once was my grandfathers truck. He was the original owner from '94-'09. It was then sold to a young, teenage, family friend who, of course, beat the crap out of it.

I just recently bought it back for $1,000! BUT, it does have some major issues. Had the chance to take it all apart this weekend and found the passengers head has a crack in it between the valves :/

I will provide further pictures and info ASAP!

Thanks,

Andrew

Thanks for the welcome and compliments!

I like the wheels too! But it isn't a 4x4, so I will probably sell them soon.

I'm located in Spring. Any Ranger meets in the area?

Thanks,

Andrew

Well dropped the heads and intake manifolds off at the machine shop this morning. Fingers crossed that the crack is fixable :) BUT, on the bright side everything is getting hot-tanked and port polish!

ALSO, to my own surprise haha, I won a M62 supercharger on eBay LOL

I thought to myself, "there is no way in hell that I can out bid this guy with an extra $2.50"...

I was wrong, but oh so right :)

How she sits today...

Nah haha. It is a Nissan Frontier/Xterra supercharger, so only 6-7psi. I'll plan on using a Walbro pump and clean out the injectors or run 21lb instead of the stock 19lb. But that's about it :)

Well the 4.0 OHVs greatest weakness is the heads. They like to crack. All the time.

6-7 PSI is RIGHT at the limit of the stock engine. Generally guys who run boost on their Ranger say stick to 5 PSI MAX on stock internals.

There are a few people who have run supers/turbos on the 4.0 SOHC running around here. No one with a OHV comes to mind though.

I've started a build thread in the FI and NOS section, so please feel free to post there instead!

Thanks,
