old guy.... new at this

hey guys... 30 years ago a lift kit was angel iron and hockey pucks , weld the diff closed & away you go, things sure have changed. i got an 06 ranger, i got a lp8500 superwinch for it, can't find a bumper..... seems like nobody i called makes anything for rangers... well except for arb but they cost almost as much as a new truck (HELP !! ) I was going to put a locker in the rear utill i found out it has 28 spline axles ( HELP !! ) where do i find 31's. and the front cv axles... what was ford thinking..... can they be upgraded without replacing the whole front end ?.... again HELP !! any insight here would be greatly appreciated . i've been stumbling around the wedsite here and found some really cool... do you guys still say cool ? ... trucks, very inspiring. thanks, hope to hear from ya

Welcome!

I still say cool, not sure if others do. They may have started the whole "Rad" thing again.

And when did ARB start making bumpers for Rangers? I sent them a letter about a year ago, and the guy pretty much told me they weren't going to make them.

nah...we don't say "cool" anymore

the cool kids now say "****"

winch bumper.....make one, its usually cheaper and you can build it to your specs

31 spline axles.....either go to a junk yard and modify one out of an explorer or find wrecked Ranger that came with them stock...(i can't remember which models off the top of my head)

Front end....3 words, Solid Axle Swap

thanks for the welcome... i was told an arb bumper for a Jeep Grand Cherokee can be made to fit but thats a lot of $$ to drop if it won't. you can find a winchbumper @ Sterling Equipment & Mfg. Co. of Central Florida, Inc.

No luck for the front axle. If you do serious offroading consider doing a SAS. Solid axle swap. Although it is not for everyone that is really the only way to get a better axle in the front.

Explorer or Ranger FX4 axles are 31 spline. I would personally rather use an Eaton E locker over an ARB.

Try Iron Bull for bumpers: ironbull bumpers

Oh and bros say that's "****" instead of cool.

here's the link on those ironbull bumpers...they actually make a front and rear!! im goin to call and see wht the front runs!!

vehiclemodels

just called $1200 for the front bumper with FREE shipping!! not a bad price for havin to take it outta a box and bolt it up....they cut the holes for 5" fogs and area to mount winch. DOES NOT COME WITH FOGS OR THERE BLACK PLATE. the guy said they've actually sold 4 bumper in the last few weeks and i mention RF to him and he said he had sold some to "us guys" lol not sure about that part though. All bumper are made to order, and these are some dang good lookin bumpers and are super durable with a TRUE LIFETIME warranty!!
