Phx newbie here with 2000 3.0 with 122k,2wd, extcab, got good deal, leery about the 3.0 but took a chance.So far, good truck. Heater core was bypassed. I guess I will need help later, thx

NEED HELP
well y'all i need help. my 2000 ford ranger 4x4 xlt 4.0 is running good but the only thing is the 4x4 doesnt engage the 4x4 lights go in but when i get stuck the front wheels dont move a all 
. its embarassing getting stuck when i take it out to off road. does anyone know how to remove the transfer case shift motor.???????
