Stablemate to my V

Hi all,

First post on the forum, lurked a little bit. Just bought an '11 XLT Super Cab. My dad had an '89 Ranger XLT and when I test drove this one, it "felt" the same. Same sound, feel and even latch to open the back window. Can't take those corners at the same speed as in the V though. I have a lot of reading to do.

This is my first truck as I have a '05 CTS-V also. Daily drove the car for 7 years and 130,000 miles. Time to give her a rest. The car still pulls, done a few road tracks with it and won some awards at shows. Now its time to do all the things I haven't been able to do. Looking forward to doing some of the things a car like that wouldn't allow. Such as mountain biking and snowboarding. Haven't been camping in 15 years and I'm looking forward to that adventure.

Got a couple questions, and I know how forums go... being a noob and all I don't want to **** off the regulars by asking the same questions over and over. I've searched a little and the beginner areas don't have what I'm looking for.

Is there a place where model years are grouped together? Since I have an '11, I won't necessarily have the same problems as an '01. Or will I since they're all basically the same? That's one of the things I love about it, it's new but it's old.

Any links or specific threads dedicated to what to do first? Anything to watch out for? TSB listings?

Welcome. Post pics of the Ranger and the V
Love those cars!!
And as for your truck, things are basically the same from 98+ so any information that pertains to those trucks will (most likely) work on your 2011

Yup, also it should have a 4.0L. Wheather it's an OHV (older trucks) or yours which is a SOHC. They both go in the same engine area.

If you wanna lift it, read the sticky's in the suspension section. Tons of info there. As for TSB's I don't think there is any after the 07 year. I could be wrong though.

Nothing after 07 as far as i know, and my scanner is current to 10.
I like them CTS-Vs i just didn't know they made them in 05. has it really been that long?
I also have a some GM in my garage too.
The only thing i'd say to watch out for is trying to camp in the bed of your truck, it isn't very spacious. i can confirm that from experience.

I beg to differ, me and the girlie were content in the bed of my truck when we lied in it on an air mattress. As long as both parties are under 6', you should be fine. The air mattress helps though.

Ahh, see you guys are the length of the bed with the tailgate up. There is no room to stretch.

The new rig

The ol' girl

Thanks for the warm welcome and greetings. I'll keep in mind about the bed, my girlfriend laughed when I told her.
