Tacoma owner here who likes Rangers
welcome. i happen to prefer the tacomas over rangers lol.
if gas prices don't go down in a year or so when it comes time to replace my ranger, i will be picking up a 4 door 05+ taco or an fj.

what would be the reason for switching to a tacoma?
I just want more space. but not something that sucks down too much gas. and they have a decent amount of power.
i'm confused, wouldnt those be something to buy if gas prices DID go down?
my cousin has an 07 4 door taco and his MPG's are a bit better then mine, even though he's stock and i have 35s w/4.88's he still spends about the same when it comes time to fill it up.
Nice lookin' Taco!
I don't like to compare Rangers to current midsize trucks (Tacos, Colorados/Canyons, Dakotas, Frontiers) because Rangers are still compacts. They have the same engines they did in 2001. All others had a redesign in the early-mid 2000s. Rangers don't even have a crew cab option. Since compacts and midsizes are different classes of vehicles I don't think it's fair to compare them.

Not currently. You can compare Rangers to 2003 Tacomas before they updated.
That being said they are currently the best vehicle in there class....of 1.
2011 is the last model year of the Ranger so the compact truck in the US is no more anyway.

so the ranger is going away all together? the smallest ford truck will now be the f-150? that would be too bad because i like that the rangers are so small. the small size is the reason i would consider getting one
probably not really that bad. that fabtech db lift is shaped like that. i doubt those coils are cranked up cuz it has a 3 inch body. still needs sas tho
prob spacers and 6" coils idk lol i don't like the LCA angle on it at all. btw, nice choice on the KM2s. i only got to use mine twice before totaling my truck haha
