v8 engine swap

Hello from Colorado.

Working with a buddy to do this engine swap. Ordered a atk HP78 crate with a cam change for lower end torque. Will be an interesting project.

Damn. Crate engine, huh? You don't fool around.

Welcome to R-F! Post pics of your truck, and as your project goes along!

Indeed, the local shop are pricy and can take over a year. Crate was the easiest way to go. It has already had everything swapped over to an explorer, new wiring harness and computer. Was running a 4.0 v6, but not enough power for Wyoming hills. This should now be just fine on the roads and back country. Just a fishing truck :-)
