Hello all, I'm Tim from NJ on the coast. I have a black 2006 Ranger XLT 4x4 4.0 Extended Cab in good condition. Got it new. I would very much like to switch to a step side bed (had one of those too). For instance, what years of Ranger (where step side was offered) would correctly fit my truck? What advice can you give me?

The only answer I saw was to go to a junk yard and hope as I am in the rust-belt. What years would fit, advice on the project I have not seen.

All years will fit, you'll need the fill pipe for the fuel tank, and the rear bumper, and of course the tailgate..

Your current tail lights and wiring will work on the step-side.

 

Im new to the site and don't know my way around. Time and experience will solve that.

 

The Flareside option was dropped after 04. You're not gonna see any Flareside beds on 2005-2011 trucks unless they've been swapped on.

That means you're looking for a 1993-2004 Ranger, and obviously ones with the Flareside bed.
