So far I do. The last time I was here alot of bloggers who knew nothing would run people down like dogs including their projects which is uncalled for in my book. I left due to that plus the economy played a huge roll in my leaving mainly. I had to give up alot of things and the internet was one of them. I think this is alot better than what it use to be and it seems alot more relaxed. I'm looking at a few projects later in the future, but first I must get some sponsors.

That's what I would like to turn my 04 ranger Edge into only with a bit of 1965 shelby a/c cobra roadster side pipes.
That is going to be alot of work. Hopefully I can find a Rebody kit for the Ford ranger like they have at
www.easyrods.com that would be kool.

Thanks. Hopefully I can get my project started really soon. I found 2 engines at a local salvage yard and the dude willing to let them go for dirt cheap. Around $750.00 maybe a little more depending on which I choose. Either a 302 H.O. out of a mustang or a 351 windsor out of an econoline van. One has a trans but the other doesn't. The one that doesn't is the 351 and he's willing to let it go for $350.00 bucks. It needs exstensive work which is not a problem.

The first engine died after 4 years of abuse. geico's mechanical breakdown dept. forced me to take their engine instead of Ford's reman. I though why not. It lasted until the first oil change. Their engine builder didn't magnaflux the block to check for leaks and I reported one oil leak, and the dealer found 3 more. It would pump out 2 1/2 quarts of oil idleing. So rather than fix the problem they swapped in another engine and it lasted 2 weeks. The builder machined it too much you can reach into the block and move the crankshaft 1/4 of an inch bare handed. Geico tried to say the oil pan was leaking. I presented geico with an affordable option a salvage yard motor. It's out lasted the previous 2 motors geico has sent. Ford's oasis program run engine numbers on the block and it wasn't a ford motor they sent. it was a Mazda motor. That explains alot don't it. All I spent on this deal was my deductible of $250.00 bucks. The reason I had to change my exhaust was because where the engine was pulled out so many time it destroyed the hanger for the exhaust and it was bouncing off my driveshaft and driving me crazy.

Thanks. Yes I do have a really good idea of what I want to do. After taking a ride in a V8 ranger I came to the conclusion that it would be awesome to do a V8 swap. I'll shoot some photos of what I found in the salvage yard. The one I took a ride in would flat out scream. Here's the kicker. The dude that I rode with gave me alot of insight as what to expect and he gets the same mpgs with a Carbed 302 as he did with the Fuel injected V6 as long as he didn't stand on or floor it. The photos I took a few minutes ago are being uploaded on photobucket as we speak of my truck. It just takes forever.
