300 ci I6 swap?

anybody ever considered swapping in a carbed I6 from 80s full size?
They're great motors and they produce butt loads of torque...
I just don't know anything about block weight/dimensions....
anyone?

I've neer seen it done, but I'd love to see it. One of the best engines Fords ever made.

Do you know how long those engines are? SUPER long! I think that swap would be pretty cool! Using a bunch of clifford hop-up parts...I remember back in the day I wanted to build me a 302ci GMC inliner for my chevy...split header, hot cam, 4 barrel, backed by a NV4500 5spd. I've seen a few really really hot inline 6's pullin' some awesome 1/4 mile times.

Yeah....In high school, there was a student at another high school locally that built a really nice '65 Nova with a hot hot hot 292. It had the normal stuff like split headers and HEI ignition, but he had two 4 barrels and I'm not remembering what else he did to it. I do remember his 1/4 times though....Mid 13's. On one of the last races of the night drags, he dipped into the 12's.

Yeah. even stock I think they sound unique. I could always tell my dad was a block away when i heard that 300 I6 in his 1991 F-150. I wish he never sold that truck. 76,000 miles...it was a virgin.

I was discussing this with Justin. If I remember right he said that the engine is 33" or 36" long. Its a big engine to fit into a small space.

If I ever get a project truck I will be seriously considering this.

I used to have one in my first truck. ('88 F150) Motor was going strong at 175k, but the frame rusted out on the truck and I didn't have the time/money/knowledge to fix the problem. Ended up selling it. Still makes me sad.

Would be nice to see one in a Ranger.

Funny. My dad asked the sales person at the dealership how good th engine was. He said something along the lines of the engine will outlive the body and frame. He was right.

Not to mention as bomb proof as an M1 Abrams tank. Only care they need is the oil changed.

Tell us some more about it...pics?

I know when I said...hmm what are three things I really want in a motor...I thought reliability, torque, good sound...seems like the 300 is the best I could think of for that...
