At the very minimum I would do a 2/3 drop with the 17s. The 2/3 drop won't decrease your load carrying capacity, will make the truck handle better, and will lower your centre of gravity, which in the winter with 2wd, is WAY better. Plus the wheels won't look rediculous either. I would put a slightly lower profile tire on it because big balloon all season tires suck for performance and handling.

but you don't lower trucks lol thats what cars are for.. trucks are ment to stay average height or be raised.. lol i love how the stance she has right now tall enough to think its a big truck but not so high that u think ur in a damn semi

I'm all for lowered trucks...had my old Mazda in Minitruckin Magazine last year.:approve: 2wd = slam it. 4wd = jack it.

haha I take it you're from "Onterrible", we need 4x4 here where there's actually snow that lasts more than two weeks.

I live like 2 hours north of you. Did you not read the article or my profile?

Lazler 01-08-2009 10:37 PM

First of all no I live in Onterrible.. I am from Alberta! :P and there is u and the 99mazda and i keep forgetting which one lives where lol

crazymikey 01-08-2009 10:39 PM

oh haha...I'm in Ontario...not for much longer...heading out to Alberta within the next 2 months. 99MazdaB4000 is from Pennsylvania lol.

Jeromeo 01-08-2009 10:48 PM

I'm in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Tons of snow and ice and freakin' cold up here. 2wd is useless up here, especially a 2wd ranger. NEED 4x4.

Lazler 01-08-2009 10:50 PM

Yeah Alberta sucks in the winter :P except thats when the Oilers play lmao

haha yeah but the oilers suck in the winter too... I gave up on the Oilers, we can't keep decent players. Go CANADIENS!

Lazler 01-08-2009 10:57 PM

Eww The Scabs!!

crazymikey 01-09-2009 12:11 PM

Go Flames. Oilers suck. Haha.

Leafs suck too,but that's a no brainer.

Hey may Im not sure how much money your dumping into your motor swap but its going to be hell to get a 4.6 in there Just go 5.0. The 4.6 is to big.

Lazler 01-09-2009 04:44 PM

4.6 was my second choise.. i want an 5.4 in it :P

ummm....4.6 is the "5.0"...:261:

Willzane 01-09-2009 05:28 PM

i though the 4.6 would be bigger in width than the 302 being its a modular motor?

crazymikey 01-09-2009 05:35 PM

Couldn't tell ya. I'm no V8 junkie. All I know is from guys talking about Mustangs that the "5.0" is really a 4.6....*looks around*

RangerNVS 01-12-2009 01:19 PM

umm "5.0" is a 302 cubic inch motor....."4.6" is a 281 cubic inch motor....big difference. And yes a 4.6 is BIGGER in overal motor SIZE....and they are not the same motor....block is different, heads are different, and 4.6 is SOHC...the cobra version is a DOHC.....alot different than a standard 5.0

crazymikey 01-12-2009 01:27 PM

There, that clears things up now. Thanks Eric.

I guess that would be like calling a Honda 1.6 a 2.0 lol

Your exactly right Zach, motor swap on 04+ is a major feat.

more like a 4.6 in any ranger is a nightmare. Its so wide.

jaysinpa 01-13-2009 06:20 AM

I like it. I think it would look even more killer if you put on an 06+ Sport grille with the stripes

Chris, it's called eBay man, or bake your own and DIY. Headlights are the same for 2001-2009.

As for the "Boss" stripe, someone will have to do a PS for you first. It sounds good, but as for the look? Maybe on a lowered drag truck. It would need to have the accessories to go along with it, like a race truck.

Mind you, it seems all the suto makers have that Boss look going on. People have them on any Mustang now, and Dodge has them on their Challengers too. When it's everywhere and on everything, it just loses something.
