airpipe mod

last night, i was thinking about puttin in a oval pipe to run from the front(front valance, for example) so it can put more air to the filter, hence better performance? i dunno really...i was curious and noticed that since i installed in my K&N, there is a small path which i could run from the filter spot to the bottom or through the bumper. i would of course have to put a screen if im gonna expose it through the front. comments about this?

That can work, but two things to consider:

1. Adding more piping can actually lead to "resistance", and limit your air flow.

2. If you offroad or like to take on big puddles in your truck, having an air intake low down is not a good thing.

Cold air induction can help HP a little, but it's not a major adder. Ram air is about useless unless you're going pretty darn fast already, so I wouldn't count on much from that effect.

It's a bad idea. Like everyone said alot of resistance. Also it's alot of pipe or whatever and too many angles to get it somewhere to actually work.
