Anyone ever buy back a wreck?

I may buy mine, anyone know what ins companies charge? There's just too much crap on there to let go, plus the frame and driveline seem pretty good....

they charge usually 10% of what they pay out.

so like my old ranger i got 16000 so it would be like 1600 for the truck.. something along those lines each company is different.

It's got 130k and there is now way besides a new cab and bed this thing will ever be road worthy! We're looking at getting another Ranger, and I'd part this one out...or tube it out and make my buggy.

My old 90 2wd Ranger had some body damage nothin too major but then we thought the head gaskets blew and insurance company told us it was totaled... dont know how much it was to keep it but it turns out that the thermastat was bad and made it overheat so my grandpa is still drivin it.
I would say that if the insurance company dont want much for it keep it and part it!

i'd buy it back. Go to the junk yard and find a new cab, order some new fenders and be on my way.

something tells me those are no good.. the fiberglass is cracked on the hood, right hand mirror is broken, and looks like the grille is busted.

Next week I'm out of school for two weeks, so the truck will get torn apart then. I'm keeping the drivetrain stuff as backups/play things, but allt he cosmetic crap is going. Not sure about the wheels yet, but they (and the FX4 spare) are in good shape. One scuff, but that may become the spare.

I have the gas tank skid, interior, and FIPK spoken for, but a partial list of what I'm pulling to sell next week is....

T case skid
EATC system...the first ever!
OHC and mirror...mirror arm may have cracked though
Rear open 28 spline 4.10...keeping drum stuff though, but axle and guts are useless to me
Random bits and pieces that will not fit or match the FX4 and any body panels.....

that's all I can think of now, but if you need anything just ask.

I was going to use it for scrap/other projects, but if you really want it. As it stands it will NOT bolt up. I had my front xmember cut out and a rear hitch welded in. It will mont up fine at the bottom, but the top may take some thinking. I'll drop it and you can take a look and see if it works.
