Ok, So i was at a car and truck show a few weeks back and i was looking at the difference between a mazda B4000 and My 03 4.0L ranger, theres not much still good ole mazda and ford but i seen something that caught my eye, the radio bezzel on the mazda was Carbon fiber look and it was stock so i made sure it was the same an of course it is, so the ranger bezzel was peeling and brought it to ford for warranty but they cant get the carbon fiber look for the rangers so they just orderd me a new silver metalic, but i was wondering if i order one through mazda i dont see why it wont fit but i wanna just make sure it does before i go and spend the money on it to find out it dont work haha cause i know there like sister trucks so im crossin my fingers here!

 

you can get a carbon fiber one from ford... its standard on the STX ranger

 

they sat there and said NO u cant, im like ive seen it, THEY tried to tell me that i bought the silver one that comes with the Level 2, i was like uh no thats factory, there computers didnt show it they had to call headquarters and sat there and said no we cant get the carbon fiber one but what colour do you want other then that, the silver one is there waiting for me to get it install this weekend but ill make them send it back if someone can get me a PART NUMBER ASAP WITH 4x4 button. cause they said i can have whatever i want so i want that !! stupid ford dealer

 

Mazda had it in the 1999 Troy Lee edition and yes they are exactly the same.

 

i know they had one i was tempted to steal it from the truck LOL i just need the PART # to prove ford wrong

 

technically its not a ford part its a mazda part even though its the same... thats why

 

i relize that, been a mechanic for awhile....but buddy said the STX has it..and if someone knows the # to let me know .

 

stx doesn't come in 4x4, though...

so you will have to modify the bezel, then...

 

SO i went to Mazda today and looked at the carbon fiber look bezzel, its on order and will be here in a week!! its nice really nice, nicer then this crap silver one, so if anyone has any questions just ask.

 

i was going to get a bezel like that...

they wantd like $110 for it

it does look cool...but now u gotta finish it up with the CF door handles....Mazda has those too...cuz we're cooler ;D

Cool that you're getting a carbon fiber bezel, I didn't know they existed. Post some pics up when you get it and put it in, I'd really like to see what thats like.

true....compared to a real carbon fiber hood or etc, it looks cheezy as crap, but alone...its ok

like a black bezel with grey squares

 

tenically you can get sheets of carbon fiber use your own bezel as a mold and make your own REAL carbon fiber bezel for most likely cheaper then that stock one. granted it takes some doing on your part but in the long run its worth it

 

i'd just prefer a nice painted color..

add some flakes maybe, or metallic color...

 

who cares if its not real. in this case i guess its personal preferance and i like it way over the ford ones so id spend the 125 for a different look even though it aint real. its gonna be nicer and thats all i care about

I saw one on ebay the other day you got the radio bezel and cluster surround for 40.00 plus shipping search this item number 7982688142

 

Too bad its for a 2wd....blurple has a 4x4...he'll have to cut up that nice new purdy dash cover for the 4x4 switch.

I saw that carbon fiber bezel on a base model mazda 2300 at the auto show for new cars. IT WANT ONE...but not for that price he paid...I'll just have to scout the new car junk yards.
