Darkened tail lights. Yes or no??

Well My fathers a chp in california and i know there your tail lights have to be reflective by law but normally you wont be bothered.

illegal, will lower your light out put if you make the tint noticable, bad imo, just paint around the reflectors

Other than being the stupidest idea other than driving with no lights at all, tinting your lights will make it like you have no lights at all.

Plus most cops will frown upon it, as it isnt removable like those totally lame tinted plastic covers.

Try driving with sunglasses in the dark. That's what your lights will be like if you tint them.

ive done them on my truck and car with niteshades:

ranger did tails, 3rd brake light, and front side reflectors:





on my car i did just the tails:



i recommend not going completely blacked out, and tape over the clear backup light portion of the tails.

yea, i'll leave the reflectors in back and up front i think i'm just going to tint the orange and then leave the white.....the headlights alone

So maybe this is a stupid question but where can you buy the nightshade paint? Is it specifically an auto shop thing or just any hardware store?

I use the PJ1 Spray tint it works great!!!! if u sand ur lights down first they come out kind of dull. i just cleaned mine really good and they are super glossy!
