Dumping my duals????

Ok I have a set of flowmaster duals on my truck. Got it done about 2 years ago. I was wondering if i just cut em shorter underneathe and just heat the pipe up and 90 it down or buy a set of 90 tips and weld em on? Would that work? Make it sound better? Any of you done this? Just looking for ideas?

It will be hella loud in the cab and outside...I get sick of the resonating humm of my exhaust at 2500 rpms now and cant imagine it with it dumped right after the muff....but to each his own!

yea it sound badass as long as you don't mind the drone inside the cab. If you wanted the same sound but not as much drone inside the cab, just run the pipes out before the rear tire like the F150 Lightning exhausts are. -Mike-

It will be louder and deeper. Since you have the 4.0L OHV it will have a deeper sound than the SOHC..

I did the same to my 2.5, only without the turn-downs. It made it much, much deeper (inside and out), and it really resonates a nice tone in the cab and within 20 feet of the truck now. My wife hears me when I pull into the neighborhood, and we live 100 yards or so from the entrance. I pull in at idle or just bare above it.

I'd recommend it, but be prepared to turn up the radio a few more notches!

i had my 2.5 dumped for awhile with my magnaflow. Sounded great outside but very annoying inside the cab going down the highway. -Mike-

now you are planning on keepin ghte flow master mufflers right? and just dumping the piping right before the rear axle?, well it will be a little bit louder but it shouldnt make that much of a differenace, i wnet from dual out the back to basically the same thing with Two Dynomax mufflers and it really didnt chance the sound of the vehicale much at all... its basically piping you are taking away just try not to dump it under the cab or else you will get that droning effect and it just gets anoying after a min or two....

i think the 4.0 has a louder, deeper, raspier sound. dont quote me on it though.
