F-ranger?
My buddy is about to do something similar. He's taking his like early 90's mid-sized Blazer and putting it on to a full size single cab frame, but keeping the 4.3. I said waste of time/money, but he'll have 60's under it, so I can't b!tch.

the 4.3 vortech is one of the best engins their are, me and my buddy put his though pure hell. He water logged a few months ago, and since then hes only had his 1st and 2nd gear, its auto. so hes been runnin around at 75 mph in 2nd. so its a good engin and tranny. **** the only thing iv seen run under more abuse and in worse shap was my old 302 windsor. i was runnin it with no oil in the top end, and a broke crank.

good thing it wasnt a 302 cleveland.
If that 4.3 chevy truck had 4.10's, 31's, and a 700r4, 75 mph in 2nd gear (1.63) would be 5613.799 rpm. thats alot
i had a 91 s-10 with a 4.3 in it before my ranger. the 4.3 was built with flat track racing parts, since there is a 4.3 class, and i bracket raced the truck. i beat it up perty good. my best time was 13.2@109
