Im thinking about taking out my factory center console and having a fiberglass one built that will fit a sub or two and possibly a c.b. radio. should i or not and if so how much would that cost?

Go for it, custom consoles are always sweet. The only cost is what you put into it, the wood, cost of fiberglass things like that

Oh I thought you were gonna try this yourself.

Going somewhere is gonna run up the cost a lot, labor will kill ya at a shop.

Not sure where though, are there any custom audio shops around?

I don't think I could make one, well I could prolly get one together, but it won't look great. I bet someone here could build something, but you'll just have to wait and see.

Getting a basic drawing of what you want is a good place to start

hey guys go to fiberglassforum.com or check out the tech pages on therangerstation.com under interior there is a guy who did one for his ranger. Its pretty easy to do but Ill warn you to not put a sub in it. I built one for a buddys 98 gmc half ton and it sonded like s*** but yeah just go to wally world and get some resin/cloth and build a mold out of foam and try it. totally cooler if you can say you made it yourself

Don't use the Bondo brand - resin / fiberglass it is terrible to work with and don't know of too many people that are happy with the outcome.... Find a local boat / marine / rv store or maintenance place, most of the time you can get better quality fiberglass resin from there... Maybe run into someone interested in doing the work too...

i agree. find some other brand because when we used the bondo stuff it was pretty terrible to work with. check out some of the products the pros on fiberglass forums use.
