Flex fan

Flex fan
I was wondering if anyone has installed a flex fan on their pickup and what was involved. I don't care for the e-fans unless the vehicle already had one on from the factory.
I would like to do this since I had a vehicle that had one and it put out alot more air than stock. I drive mostly in town and one other benefit would be that weight savings and less water pump bearing wear and tear, maybe not as much as an e-fan but the fan would always be turning with the engine so constant air flow is what I am after since the heat here in Texas can be brutal at times.
I thank you in advance for any helpful suggestions!

I put a flex fan in my 89 Ranger because the plastic one was about to fly apart from cracks. The truck actually ran hotter in the summer. It didn't improve mileage or power like the manufacturers like to claim. It was just a cheaper replacement in my opinion. Not to mention that the fans can become dangerous after some time being used. There have been multiple lawsuits over them and at least one death that I know of.
