1st thing 1st take that dog collar off you neck along with that leash. dont let your girl tell you what to do with your truck. Mine tries ive never listened. for good tires look at General AT2 they are great and cheap

x4 on not letting the girl tell you what you can and can't do on YOUR truck. Secondly black rims (even if you just painted your AR rims to tide you over until you can get new ones) would look awesome on your truck. Thirdly, when tire shopping be sure to check out Yokohama A/T-S tires. I have them on my truck because most of my friends in Ottawa run these tires on their trucks and love them. So far i've put 6k on them, they still have some of the paint on them. They are great in the rain and do very well in the snow and are relatively quiet on the highway. They do ok on Ice but they aren't a winter tire so i wasn't expecting anything better than that.

70 k on a ranger is a great find, it'll last. my opinion, ( and opinion only lol) is to do a 3 inch body lift< crank the torsion rods< and do 2 inch blocks on the rear axle. i did it to mine and it really helped. rims< do a 15x8 with a neg 6 offset or so to give it a wider stance. and do some body work to give it a more aggressive look. a 4x2 can be great off road. just tweak it right and treat her great and she'll be good to you. good luck, and hit me up if u got any ?'s

I think you should get wild and buy yourself a nice present, something along the lines of a camburg lift and turn that truck truck into a pre runner. That would make those winters really nice and fun!

rangerstepside - My ranger isn't a 4x4 and that means i dont have tbars correct? lol not 100% sure but i thought 2wd don't.

MikeDevo - give me a link/pic to what your idea would look like?

Im still kind of up in the air about the truck. (I want 4x4 dodge dakota club cab bad.) but for the next few years im going to have to deal with the 2wd ranger.

I will be taking the tonneu cover off the back and open up the bed for a 4wheeler.

The tires i got slightly rub on sharp turns. so idk do i need smaller tires or should i get like wheel spacers?

thanks alot guys.

Well today I

1. i took off them **** stained mud flaps front and back.

2. i tried to get the small aftermarket foglights to work with the stock lights/foglights.

one was burnt out and they are cheapos where you cant take them apart and replace a bulb easily.
so i went and bought another 2 light 55w kit for like $20 from walmart just to see how it looks.
well the previous spot wasnt big enough for the new lights. and the bracket was very awkwardly shaped.
so i put them up at the top on the backside of the grille. and now have them mounted and wired up. pics soon.

3. i went to replace my sh*t gay shifter ****. i found out the hard way that a b&m t handle shifter dont fit now i just have a stick with no **** >.< haah. any suggestions on new shifter *****? or got to get a new shifter all together?

4. another question.. with a 3.0 is there any exhaust set up i could possibly do to make it sound alright/good/deeper without going to a hollow or "fart can" sound. i think its just impossible due to size of the engine. i know there is no way im guna get the sound out of a 5.0 or larger but i hate hearing nothing but engine and cai. any suggestions there?

5. Im going to remove my tonneau cover. its a hard shell lift up ARE tonneau cover. Currently painted to match my truck dark blueish/purple color. what is the likely hood of me getting like $200 or so out of it?
I will take that off and sell it and possibly buy a tool box. and some cb antennas. or put that toward a body lift kit.

but now the damn wire going into the fuse is **** and the littlest vibration makes the foglights go off. UGHGUGUGUGHGUGUGHGUGUGH.

*edit*

figured out the problem..

loose wire melted and blew the fuse...soldering itself to the fuse connection. replaced the fuse now it has a secure connection and my lights are on! sorry crappy pic but hey they work. i got out of work today and was like shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit its dark i cant see with out the stock fogs lolll.

Have fun with the foglights haha. I setup stock fogs on mine and they've been nothing but trouble. The switches I have suck so I have to replace them all the time, the grounding I did sucks so they short all the time. I really need to rip it all out and start over and solder everything. Ugh.

my fogs are tied into the headlights. so when my headlights come on the 2 sets of fogs come on too now =] theres no way im not guna get flashed now haha

i just took off my tonneau cover and threw it in my storage unit. that thing was damned heavy. thats prob almost 200 lbs. i drug that **** into the storage unit. i got scared because one of the hydrolic piston lifts extended and almost hit my 89 notch sittin in there. i almost had a fit. lol

now my truck looks shorter. and more rugged because of the sides of the bed being all chewed up from the cover lol. i like it. and its a hell lot quicker because of being lighter. haa

Prerunners focus more on suspension travel than lift, in order to with stand impacts and rough terrain, and a low center of gravity to help with stability. If you just want the prerunner look, lift the front up like an inch higher than the rear with spindles, and put on some 32's. If you want it to perform like a prerunner, look into Dixon Bros Racing, or Camburg suspension kits. Some fairly aggressive 32's, glass fenders, and some tube work tops it off.

Anyone else here think the General's use of "lol" is slightly overused and quite annoying? :)

okk hm. i know first of all im not going all out and swappin out fenders n such.

I think tryn to move 32''s would be maybe a little much for my 3.0? and its open 7.5 rearend.

but i still like the looks and would be willing to have a lift difference. but atm looking into just bl's

Curt, there are people moving much larger tires with a 3.0, or even a 4 banger. The 7.5 may not be ideal, but it will have no problem with 32's, the right gearing, and especially if it doesn't see too much off road use.

prerunners are nice, 2wd trucks with a 4 inch bodylift and 33 inch mud tires that cant make it through a lil slick mud but yet have hundreds of dollars wasted on fancy flashy rims and cool addons is a retarded idea. but when it comes down to it, if you dont rely on your truck to get you outta some sticky situations, and you like the look of an off road rig, then go for it, its yours, make it your own, and btw to answer the tire size question, i ran 33x10.5 on my 3.0, which is a 4wd so i was turning all 4 and it had no problem. and they were 10 ply, so they were pretty heavy, go with a 30x9.5 for an aftermarket tire if you aint got a lift, it wont rub and it'll help with traction, and give it a good look

i understand its either 3.73 or 4.10 in the open 7.5 according to the axle code on the door.

around my area there are not many chances to get real muddy. few puddles here and there. last winter i got stuck in every bit of snow because of the wider tires i had on the back from the previous owner. this winter got some real a/t tires 245/75/16 so im good to go. slight rubbing. but if i got just a little body lift i think i wouldnt have any trouble at all with rub. how large are these tires compared to the 30x9.5 you meantion?

Yesterday me and a few buddies threw on some cb antennas now we are lookin good haha. 3ft firesticks! oh yeah!!!!!!!

i need to relevel my bumper its kinda saggy on one side. i think its from the time i went through a ditch pretty fast. D:
