^^HAHA.....that's why I bought my brother those manual mirrors that look like the auto mirrors......so he can do my mod too.....mine are just that....the autolooking manual mirrors. "styled manual mirrors" if you will.
Paint the chrome part black and sand the top of the chrome part down a little bit so you can see more of the light and it will look killer!
^^exactly what I did.....sanded it down....actually sanded too much, so had to fill the spaces in the molding with JB weld, then sanded it some more! Painted satin black i believe.
And yes, the bracket came with it. I even included a pic of the packaging showing the mounting bracket.

Okay, I am really interested in this mod. Question that is holding me back, how likely is you will break the mirror glass when you pop the mirror out or am I missing something you don't have to pop out the glass.
Thanks for your help

I think Shane told me once with the mirror turned all the way to the side you have enough room to fish a wire through. I'm pretty sure the bracket just screws into the mirror so you don't have to pop the glass off for that. I again am having a ***** of a time finding these.
Turn the mirror housing all the way in before you remove it. Then just push it in a little, and fish the wire through. Really easy. I tried connecting it to the marker light, and it stayed lit and flashed with the signals like the bigger Fords do, but didn't work without the lights being on. I thought about painting the chrome black, but since I have alot of chrome on it, I think I'll leave them chrome. I added a small nut between the lense and the chrome part...so it sticks down a little more. Can be seen alot better now.
^^still think you need to paint them....they are so out of place.
But exactly what Johnny said, move the mirror around to get enough room to fish the wire though. I grounded the lamps to one of the mirror mounting studs on the door. And I just used some 3/4 or 1/2" screws to secure the lamp/bracket.
I guess this means i really need toget a move on on these.
And if anyone can't find the ones Myself or Johnny are using, I have a good supply of them at a local store for $10 each w/bracket. I don't mind picking up a pair, and shipping them out to you for the cost of the items plus shipping.

Ok folks...Part # is V168XA. Part # V168A does not include the bracket. The stock bracket/decorative piece is chrome. I sanded it to show the lamp more, and painted the bracket satin black. Used plain old sheet metal screws to mount the lamp to the mirror. predrilled of course, and a hole in the middle for the wire leads. Routed the wire to my jumper wire for my blinker mod. Done. Super easy. I am still planning on a formal how-to write up. I have all the pics, just gotta write it up. lol.
