Money sucker
Katie I hate to say it but a 4wd swap into a 2wd truck is a TON of work. The truck wasn't built as a 4x4 so it would take a whole lot of work to transform it into one. You just don't have the hardware or bracing set up for a front axle, a 4wd transmission or a transfer case. Not to mention wiring harnesses. Seems like the middle ground here would be to build a truck from the frame up with the equipment you want to run then drop the Mazda body onto it. It's still the same truck, sort of, if you do that.

I am still thinking about it, I see no need for 4x4 if I have people to help me get unstuck all the time. Maybe I will just make it a snazzy 2wd with Baja Claws in the rear and a locked rear....
I know it isn't an easy job, sucks money and time.

It depends on what terrain. Hill climbs and rocks the 4x4 will probably win, but in mud and on flat terrain your correct.
No hills in Florida, so no worries.
Out here with the rocks and hills 4x4 open diffs wins every time over a 2wd locked. I know because I used to have with 4x4 open diffs. Now I'm 4x4 locked rear open front. I tested running a section of trail when I had open diffs in 4x4. No problem. Then when I got my locker I ran the same trail in 2wd locked. I had to beat the truck up to get through. I made it but the truck was getting the crap beat out of it.
Also in her signature it says her t-bars are cranked. lol
