do not use paint do it in hurculiner that's what i have. looks awesome and is very scratch resistant... im also changing my paint scheme i already got the bed and tail gate done had the bed off to do that, so i also did behind my cab so i dont have to take the bed off again... and by your self the bed is a pain thank god for straps and garage ceiling mounts made it easy...

Yes, as long as it is being prepped and painted properly and not being rattle canned. The one thing I hate (which I am guilty of doing in the past) is having a factory paintjob that is perfectly good, and then being ruined by spraypaint accents/two tones or other customization with spraypaint.
IMO, as mentioned before, using the spray on bed liner is not only a practical idea which will save the lower half of your truck from rust,dents and scratches, it also looks good when done properly. I think that's your best way to go if you're going to do it.
